Commissioned photographic art

Created for hotels, workplaces and spaces with a point of view.

Nostalgia

For an independent hotel with a playful character, a group drawn from childhood objects could carry that personality from the arrival space to the places where guests gather.

Travel

A travel theme could connect a hotel’s arrival lounge and guest rooms, with a related group of photographs that gives each space a different point of attention.

The room view explores three of the six photographs. Size, color and finish are part of how the work will be experienced and belong in the project discussion.

Office

A company’s work can provide a starting point: its materials, instruments, activities or the ideas behind them.

Adventure

A possible direction for an informal hotel with a sense of play, connecting its shared spaces through subjects drawn from adventure.

Magic and Mystery

A more theatrical direction, with a darker palette and objects that invite curiosity.

A distinctive way of seeing

A new commission can begin with a place, an identity or an idea. From a single work to a related collection, Mark brings his way of seeing to something created for your project.

Working with Mark

Mark Robert Halper is a Los Angeles artist whose career has moved from commercial photography to commissioned portraits and ARTIFACTS.

Each image is created in camera, then toned to introduce color. For a commission, the starting point can be the character of a space, something central to an organization, or an idea worth exploring. Mark develops the photographic interpretation.

Begin with the project

Share the space, what you have in mind and when the artwork would be needed.

Develop the direction

Your intentions for the project and Mark’s artistic judgment shape the subject and scope.

The presentation

Discuss the size, color, finish and number of pieces as part of the project.

Tell Mark about your project

For new commissions or an interest in existing artwork, share a little about the space, its location and your timing.
