Celebrating the People of the Santa Ynez Valley

This project explores the personalities of the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County, California.

Following the success of Sunlight and Water, Mark and his late wife, Jennifer, made a second home in Santa Ynez and expanded his focus beyond the winemakers to the who shape the rhythm of the Santa Ynez Valley.  Here the terrain is more than background; it is part of each subject’s daily life.  These portraits include Mark's friend and neighbors, and a compilation of less and more well known residents of the area.  They invite us to see this wine region in a more comprehensive and deeper way.
