How to measure and photograph your walls.
(1) Identify all of the walls where you would consider displaying your portraiture.
We suggest choosing at least seven areas to give you as many options as possible.
(2) Measure the width and height of the wall area in inches from end to end.
Please bring these measurements with you.
(3) Stand to the back of the room, and hold your phone flat (parallel) to the wall.
Stand at the back of the room to include as much of the room in your snapshot as possible.
Avoid being at an angle to the wall.
Avoid being too close to the wall to see both the floor and ceiling.
It is preferable to take existing artwork off the wall, but not necessary.
Don’t worry if your home is messy.
These don’t need to be perfect, just do your best and bring the images with you on your phone.
(1) We start with picture you bring to us. Be sure to stand far enough away to include as much room as possible, and to take the picture flat to the wall.
(2) When you come in, we transfer it from your phone to our computer. The measuring tape you see above, along with your measurement of that distance in inches, calibrates the picture to the actual size of your wall.
(3) Now the software is ready to allow you to see your artwork on the walls of your own home, and to select the most appropriate pieces and sizes.
